a special place for your special day

We have now hosted a multitude of weddings here at the farm.  For a book of pictures and ideas, please send the goats a message - sweetapplegoats@gmail.com - and they will get you the details. 

Our staff will provide lots of special attention to your special day.  We ask that you make a list and review that list with us to be sure we both understand your special needs.  Some items to discuss include entrance into the barn for the ceremony, special outside decorations, set-up for photographer in different locations throughout the farmstead and much more.  We've even hosted a wedding outside in front of the wishing well!  Here are some basics to start:

April-August September-October
Bridal Party Changing Area Blinds and covers will allow the ladies of the bridal party to use the market under the Bankfront Barn.  The kitchen area of the private residence along with restroom will be made available to the bride and ladies in the wedding party.
Decorating A reservation includes the top of the barn only for decorating purposes after 5PM the evening before the ceremony. Depends on day of event.  Most generally, we will allow decorating any time that day as early as needed.  There is a $50 charge for decorating the evening before.
Photography We welcome and encourage your photographer to visit the farm before the ceremony.  Preferably at the same time of day at which you will be married.  This allows for proper preparation for lighting and any extra equipment (mobile equipment?) that your photographer will need in order to make the best pictures possible.  All areas of the farm are accessible for your pictures.  Most guests prefer the garden areas.
Our Regular Guests The farm will be closed to the general public during your reserved times. Because we are only open to the public during two months of the year, we are unable to close the farm for this time for special events on Saturdays and Sundays.  We can, though, work with you if you are planning a weekday evening or Friday evening event.
Receptions

A quick change over in the main barn takes some time.  This can work or the rental of an additional building (usually Charles & John’s Machine Shed) makes a nice change of pace for the day. Sorry, no alcohol is permitted.  For a map of the grounds

  • Let us do the cooking! 

    • We can provide food to meet your needs or we will work with caterers to make your event special. 

    • General menu includes roast-your-own hotdogs with fixins, country-style cole slaw, country-style baked beans, s'more kits to roast on the fire, lemonade and iced tea. Sorry, no alcohol is allowed on the farm. 

    • Cooking fires are provided as well as roasting sticks.

  • Caterers can bring food onto the grounds.  Please ask for details.

  • We have recommendations for local food options and have the Village Cakery across the road.

Available Space
  • Building Space

    • The Bankfront Barn & Market...Our old-fashioned gambrel, bankfront barn provides a beautiful space for events. General seating - 140; Dinner/Dance - 100. Of course, there is enough room around the entire farmstead for larger groups if casual, depending on what type of event you would like to have. Space is 32x40. Under the barn is our market sales area from August 10 until November 10. BUT - The rest of the year, this space holds up to 50 guests for a meal type event and can be heated or cooled to make an event more enjoyable. 

    • Charles & John's Machinery Shed...Contrary to the name, this building will add extra space for events for medium sized groups. General seating - 140; Dinner/Dance - 100. Walls are already decorated with giant farm equipment logos. Space is 45x30

    • Vera's Tool Shed...This is the old livery on the farm, so it has two sides for your event.  General event - 30; all sit-down - 20. 

    • Tables and benches are provided in each space.  Other items can be brought to the farm.

    • We can host groups up to 400 at the farm. 

Additional Space: Tents

For extra space for larger events, tents are a welcome addition for larger seating areas.  We can recommend companies to our guests, Contracts and charges are between our guests and the companies who rent the tents.
